Best of 2018

What a year it has been! The past 365 brought wonderful growth and success for Alexander Interiors. I can truly say that 2018 has been our best year yet. So much so, that I almost hate to tell it goodbye. Before we do, lets take a look back at some AI’s top moments. From growing our team to that nursery, here are a few of my favorite highlights. See you in 2019!

This sweet room was truly the gift that kept on giving. From features on The Today Show, The Scout Guide, and Southern Living to making the rounds on Pinterest, the jewel-box-of-a-space stole the show at every turn. As a designer, work that resonates with others is always gratifying. But with all the problem solving (and math!) that went into this little labor of love, the recognition was especially meaningful.

I obsessed over the details in the Belle Meade master bath, including the placement of every last piece of marble tile. (We’re talking hundreds of them, by the way.) But the results were worth it. From the custom interlocking-ring floor to that killer soaking tub, this space truly sings. Can’t wait to show you more rooms from this whole-house project in 2019!

You asked. We answered! 2018 marked the launch of our E-Design services. Getting this initiative up and running was no small task, but now I can’t imagine not offering it. What a pleasure it has been to connect with clients across the country. Looking forward to seeing many of these projects come together in the new year.

Who better to gab with than Gabby Home? I was flattered when the Alabama-based furniture company interviewed me at AmericasMart Atlanta. Among the items included in the feature: my favorite furniture picks for fall. (Spoiler alert: I had heart eyes for the Coralee Dining Chair).

Some projects capture your heart. That’s the case with the Franklin Farmhouse. For those of you who follow along on Instagram Stories, you’ll know that this one is a gigantic undertaking. But, oh, how it will be worth it! From brick pavers to cerused oak cabinetry, it’s pushing my design in all the best ways. More to come in 2019!

I always encourage clients to incorporate pieces with patina and pedigree—sometimes that means shopping second-hand. Imagine my surprise, when my own dining table ended up the mother of all vintage finds. I scored my diamond-in-the-rough table and chairs off Craigslist and gave it some TLC by way of Brasso. I was pleased as punch with those results. Then, a few months later, I spotted a dead-ringer for the set listed for nearly 60-times what I paid for it. Talk about a deal!

Last but not least, this year of growth saw the Alexander Interiors team expand. I welcomed two phenomenal talents—Mary Elizabeth with MP&F Strategic Communications who heads up our marketing and branding efforts, and Dani who, well, there’s nothing she can’t handle. These ladies are the best!
